I have got Future Generali and Birla Sunlife life insurance (both ULIP), which I am planning to stop and go for a term insurance. I daily check the gain of these two insurances from last month. in Birla sometimes in a day I will gain more than 3000 and sometimes -700 or so.. but my overall gain from last 8 yrs is just 5030. and in future Generali, overall gain is 25000. Both the ULIP are almost same premium and 8 yrs old. why is it so? and my one more question about future Generali is that from last two days there is no changes.. its same no gain or no loss.. can it happen like this.
Laxmish-First thing ULIPs are equity investments and meant for long term. So don’t try to look at them on daily or hourly base. Second thing, ULIPs carries higher expenses (especially these old ULIPs). Due to this the returns may not be showing at higher end. Again, one more reason may be due to bad performance of their funds.
My suggestion is to come out of such products at the earliest.
