Hi, team basunivesh.
Everyone tells about sip, start early with long term goal etc. I did it all. Now also in good position . But I started in 2007 @21, now some of the best funds of that time are not performing good or losing. What to do
1. Shall I stop sip in them and leave the accumulated amount to grow and start new sip as per the current scenario
Shall I withdraw the money and invest lumpsum in some other good performing fund at present.
Do keep in mind that the fund you invested today will NEVER remain at TOP forever. The fund has to undergo highs and lows. Hence, never ever attached with fund. But attached to your goals, time horizon, return expectation and asset allocation.
How do you understand that the fund is under performing? When the fund failed to generate the return in line with the index it is tracking (May be for 2-3 years continuously), then you have to take the call for coming out of this fund.
Once you decided to move out of the fund, then first you must stop the SIP. Then you redeem the whole amount and invest in the fund which you have chosen as an alternative.
