Hi Basu, I am aware about Leave Travel Allowance (LTA) limits, travel is included not other things, block years etc. My company gives us an option to set the LTA amount at the start of the financial year. I want to know what is the maximum amount I can set against LTA. I am planning for a travel this FY and I am expecting travel expense would be more than double my basic salary. Can I set my LTA well beyond my basic salary so I can get maximum benefit of LTA? Also thought I am having is, anyway if I set it to well beyond the expense I anticipate, and if my actual expense turns out to be less……anyway differential amount would be taxable…..which would be anyway if I do not set the limit higher.
