I have made PPF account in Bank of India Nasik Shivaji Udyan branch five years before. I also have the salary account in the same bank. I am making saving in the PPF account but after depositing money the bank, doesn’t give a proper entry in my PPF account passbook. They just make a single sign on the passbook and a handwritten entry by the clerk. They don’t put any bank stamp on the entry. When I complained the bank manager the reply from him was not good. He said bank doesn’t get any benefit from the government by giving money deposit service to the PPF account. So I can’t do anything about this as this is a free service. I am doing my savings under 80c from this ppf account, but I haven’t got any yearly statement for my PPF account from the bank. Is the hand written entry and sign made by clerk is sufficient for the proof of saving in the PPF account passbook?
If they are doing it as FREE service, then it is their problem but not your’s as a customer of the bank. They have to enter in the passbook with a sign and stamped properly. What cost they will bear by a stamping on entries?
If the manager still not ready to listen, then let him give in writing that because of the cost involved in stamping, he is unable to do so as his bank can’t bear the cost of giving the proof to clients of their investments.
