Hope you are doing well. Thanks in advance for your time and effort in answering my query
I am an NRI, 31 years old, with a 2 year old child. I need to plan my investments for her education and other needs 15 years from now
Target: Child education – 15 years from now – Target 15 crores INR
Current thinking: Asset diversification: 80% equity,10% FD (NRE FDsince I get exempted from tax) and 10% Gold
How does this look to you? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks
I don’t think GOLD is required for you. Instead use equity to debt in 70:30. Gold gives you returns of debt but volatility of equity. So why to risk?
Thanks Basu. I have a different take on Gold but perhaps for another post.
1) Debt funds have capital gain taxes. So, Would you recommend investing 30% in NRE FDs?
2) How would you diversify the 70% equity portion?
Look forward to your answers. Thanks
