Hello Basu,
Thanks for your blog. Keep it up.
My queries are,
1.Do you suggest ‘separate portfolio for separate goal’ or ‘one portfolio for all goals’?
My goals are:
GOAL 1 :KID’S EDUCATION :
TIME HORIZON:12 YEARS
SIP AT ₹ 15 k /MONTH
COULD BE PORTFOLIO AND AMOUNT TO BE INVESTED IN % :
A. 1 ELSS fund :80%(to get benefit of tax saving)
B.1 mid cap fund :10%
C.1 small cap fund:10%
GOAL 2: PART TIME RETIREMENT
TIME HORIZON: 12 YEARS
SIP AT ₹ 20 K /MONTH
2.
For this goal 2 of retirement ,in which category in which proportions should I invest in SIP at ₹20k for 12 years horizon ?
3.
For this goal number 2,could we invest only in 1 mid cap and 1 small cap fund, say 10 k in 1 mid cap ,and 10k in 1 small cap for 12 years horizon, but avoiding large cap fund ?
4.
For this goal number 2 of retirement ,if I have to select 1 mid cap and 1 small cap ,can we select the same mid cap and small cap fund which was used in goal 1 of kid’s education but with different folio number ,so that we can recognize which fund is for which goal ?
GOAL 3 :ACCUMULATE SOME MONEY AFTER 5 YEARS :
TIME HORIZON : 5 YEARS
SIP AT ₹ 5 K /MONTH
5.
For this goal 3 with time horizon of 5 years, which category would you prefer to invest in,
Balanced fund or multi cap fund ?
Thanks.
