Hope you are doing well.
This would be my 2nd question to you regarding Financial planning and Insurance:) The last one was for Term insurance and it was very helpful. Sitting at home during this Curfew in Bangalore i thought this is the best thing to do today:)
I would keep this short, in my portfolio, i thought of investing 4,000 each in different categories but i wasn’t sure which fund to choose and hence i went with multiple funds. I have tried my best to figure out which one to exit and which one to stay with but this is the most difficult choice for me. My investment is for a retirement corpus after 20 years from now.
Franklin India Smaller companies fund – 1,200
DSP Black Rock Micro Cap Fund – 1,200
Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip fund -1,400
I just don’t know how to trim down these funds selection now, i tried comparing these funds on Value research but they are almost similar.
I have some sort of liking towards the Franklin India Fund Manager as i also hold investment in Franklin India Tax shield and Franklin India high growth Companies fund.
My Large Cap is split between Birla Sunlife front line equity fund and SBI Blue Chip fund
My Tax funds are split between Axis long term equity fund, Franklin India tax shield and Birla Sunlife Tax Relief 96, where again i need some trimming i guess.
Yes, all the Equity funds are for the Retirement Goal and i would try and increase it by 10% every year.
Well, for the Debt part, i have an investment in Franklin India Ultra short term debt fund. My investment in Debt Funds and FD is more than my 6 months Salary to cover my Contingency Funds.
Apart from that i have increased my EPF contribution through VPF and i contribute to my PPF every month but again i will be reviewing the contribution to these PF’s on the basis of my changing interest rates.
Don’t consider your emergency fund FDs as debt investment. Always keep them separate. Regarding other debt products you mentioned, whether there is any % of portfolio allocation you are managing between equity and debt? Currently what is the % of holding between these two asset classes?
