I have two EPF accounts from previous companies. One is with previous company\’s EPF trust and UAN no.also given. The other one is with EPFO and is inoperative for last4 years. In the present organization, EPF has not been considered due to salary bracket. My questions are:
1.How to merge my two EPF accounts? when I don\’t have any present pf account.
2.I am unable to view the EPF balance on EPFO site which is connected to EPF trust. For viewing, I have to go to the company website. Is it mandatory to link my UAN to old EPF account as I am afraid that EPFO amount will transfer to trust and for that sum also, I have to go through trust formalities.?
3. Please suggest such that my both EPF amounts are safe and I should be able to withdraw the EPF amounts at my terms without the consent of employee. Regards.
If withdrawal is your intention, then why to MERGE? Apply individually for withdrawal.
Thanks for your reply. Is it possible to withdraw when I am still in service and my age is 54 years now. Also I am not interested in withdrawal as it will have tax liability also. . But I want to make both accounts safer and secure till my retirement and merged at one place.
In that case, better to let it be there. Once you turn 60 years, then you can withdraw both.
Again thanks for prompt reply. Will it be safer in a pf trust for such a long time. Also the pf sum after 3 years will be earning interest? Can I open pf account by me alone where I can transfer the earlier ones and keep it active.
You have just another 6 years left to reach 60 years. Hence, I don’t think there is any risk of leaving your EPF with trust. Yes, now irrespective of how old EPF accounts, all EPF account will accumulate interest as long as one not withdraw money. You are not allowed to open the EPF account on your own.
