Hi Basu I want to purchase health insurance for my parents (father-59yrs & mother-53yrs) but as my father is diabetic and mother is asthamatic i am finding it difficult to buy individual plans from different providers. However i recently got to know that canara bank is providing group health insurance for its account holders as they have tied-up with apollo munich. I have them covered for 6lac with my employer, but still i want to buy additional insurance. Whats your take on such group health insurance offered by banks? I know that its not advisable but as i am finding it difficult to buy individual plans i am thinking of going ahead with this group insurance policy. When i read the terms and conditions actually its almost the same as that of individual policies. Thanks for your response. Regards, Raghu
Did Apollo Munich admit your parents in the coverage? Else, what did you do? I am in a similar position, with diabetic and hypertensive parents.
So far i have not tried claiming with canara bank Apollo Munich even though i have bought policies for my parents.
My mom was admitted once and i used my office health insurance coverage for the claim.
Thanks for your reply Raghu. So, in the proposal form you indicated diabetes and asthma as pre existing, and were issued the policy. I am basically concerned, if I declare that my parents suffer from diabetes and hypertension ( although both in check with medication) , will my proposal itself be rejected. I am in a dilemma whether to declare the PEDs !
It is always BEST to disclose than HIDING.
As per the policy document PEDs cant be claimed until 3 years.
Its good to declare, there is no medical tests that will be done
