I was working in a private firm during 01.04.2006 to 31.03.2007. During that time my PF was not deducted as HR people told me its up to me to deduct or not in short its optional for me for deduct.
My total salary was 7325/- including basic pay of 2000/- and Professional Tax of Rs 175/-
I just want to know as per which rules the deduction of PF was not deducted or kept optional for me during 2006-2007?
Kindly provide the link if possible.
It is very important for me. Kindly reply
Thank you so much Sir.
They cheated you. If the company is under EPFO rules and your salary (Basic+DA) is up to Rs.6,500 (the rule which was there in 2006-07), then you are eligible for EPF.
However, during the time of joining, if your salary was more than Rs.6,500 (Basic+DA and it is again the rule for 2007-07), then in the beginning itself YOU HAVE RIGHTS either to be member of EPF or opt out.
So as per above rules, they simply cheated you.
Sir, thank you for replying. But in my question i forgot to write that, when my company asked me for deduction of EPF, that time i requested not to deduct the PF from my salary. That time my Basic+ DA was 2000+0=2000/- as DA not given to me.
So, just want to verify that according to the rule which was in 2006-2007, was it right that i had a choice whether to deduct or not to deduct the PF from salary considering my basic+DA salary??
